Winmau, since 1945
The British Winmau is since 1945 the dart brand par excellence. This producer of dartboards and other dart articles initially produced dartboards on the market of painted elm wood. Only later did the company switch to dartboards of pig hair. Winmau was founded by Harry Kicks. The darts brand is named after the first letters of the first names of his wife: Winifred Maud. Winmau has linked its name to various global darts tournaments. One of the more important darts tournaments of the British Darts Organization (BDO) is still the Winmau World Masters. This tournament is organized every year in semidember in the English Hull. Of course people play with a Winmau dart board .

The Winmau Blade 4 dartboard
The Winmau Blade 4 dartboard is the best known Winmau dartboard. In the development of the Winmau Blade 4 , the aim was to limit the risk of bounce-outs for the darters to the absolute minimum. A bounce-out is an arrow that rebounds from the board, because it hits a steel edge or an unevenness on a scoring surface. The Winmau Blade 4 board has been used at all sorts of renowned international darts tournaments, such as the Lakeside in Frimley Green. Many darthelden, such as Raymond van Barneveld, Andy Fordham and Martin Adams threw legendary games on the Winmau Blade 4.
